Sphere of Curiosity (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website sphereofcuriosity.com (the “Site”) and the related YouTube channels and internal tools that publish content to it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you subscribe to our email list or contact us, we collect your email address, the name you choose to provide, the date of your consent and the message you send.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, referring page and time of visit. Cookies and similar technologies may be used for basic site functionality, security and aggregate statistics.
  • Embedded content. Pages may embed videos from YouTube or other third-party services. Those services may collect data about you when you interact with the embedded content, under their own privacy policies.

2. How we use information

  • To operate, secure and improve the Site.
  • To send you the emails you subscribed to. We use double opt-in: you must confirm your address before we send anything, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Google services and Google user data

Our internal publishing tools connect to Google services (such as Google Drive and YouTube) through Google’s official APIs, using OAuth authorization granted by the account owner. Access is limited to the operator’s own accounts and is used solely to store and publish our own content. We do not request, collect or use Google user data belonging to visitors of the Site. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3.1 YouTube API Services

Our publishing tools use YouTube API Services to upload videos, set titles, descriptions, thumbnails and publishing schedules, and read basic statistics for the YouTube channels we operate. By using our Site or the channels connected to it you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to the data Google collects.

What API data we access and store. Through YouTube API Services we access only data about our own channels: channel identifiers and titles, video identifiers, upload status, and public view/subscriber counts. We do not access, collect or store any YouTube data about visitors to the Site or about other YouTube users. Authorization tokens obtained via OAuth are stored encrypted on the operator’s private automation server and are never shared with third parties. Channel statistics are kept for up to 30 days for internal reporting and then deleted; they are not shared, sold or used for advertising.

Revoking access and deleting data. The account owner can revoke our tools’ access to YouTube data at any time via the Google security settings page. Any person may also request deletion of stored API data by writing to the contact address in section 10; we delete such data within 30 days of a verified request.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, email delivery, analytics), under agreements that restrict their use of it, or when required by law. Providers may be located outside your country; where required we rely on standard contractual safeguards.

5. Retention

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and then deleted or anonymized.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the LGPD in Brazil), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS, access controls, limited retention) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the Site.
